Dr. Robert A. Ganz is a gastroenterologist practicing in the Twin Cities and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. His clinical work has focused on esophageal and gastric diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and related disorders, and he is widely regarded as a leading authority in these fields.
Dr. Ganz completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, graduating magna cum laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Ganz has served on the medical staff of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, holding leadership positions including Chief of Gastroenterology and member of the Medical Board of Directors. He has maintained an active clinical practice in gastroenterology in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area throughout his career.
Dr. Ganz has been extensively involved in national gastroenterology societies, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He has served on the ASGE Governing Board and the ASGE Foundation Board, including service as Chair of the ASGE Research Foundation.
